It was obvious this person was having a really bad day. Granted, we showed up half an hour before the “official” check-in time (which has never been a problem before), but we were more than willing to return later. And I mean worst ever anywhere in all our years of hotel stays. All that changed this week when our visit began with one of the worst check-in experiences ever. We stay here several times a year to celebrate our birthdays, our anniversary, and for a midwinter gray-time getaway or two, and have always appreciated the gracious welcome at the front desk. Tulalip is proud of its 4-diamond rating and as a guest visiting the resort, I assume that I will be treated with a certain level of courtesy.
After an Orca Suite snafu during last month’s anniversary stay when I discovered at 2:00 in the morning that the faucets on the jetted tub were completely disabled and not connected to the water supply, I was really, really looking forward to a do-over this month for my birthday. Things are not always perfect in paradise.
